The city began as frontier town and has number of historical attractions. Lethbridge Viaduct is commonly known as High Level Bridge and it is one of the highest and longest steel trestle bridge in North America. It was completed in year 1909.
Fort Hamilton, originally known as Fort Whoop- UP, it was a point of centre if illegal activities during 19th century. It the very first fort which was built by J.J Healy in 1869 and A.B Hamilton like a whiskey post and this was destroyed a year later by fire.
As a cultural centre of southern Alberta, Lethbridge has number of notable cultural attractions. Nikka Yoku Japanese Garden was opened in 1967 in south Lethbridge as a part of Canadian centennial celebrations which was attended by Japan’s Prince and Princess Takamatsu.
