1. Longest Street in the World: The distinction of World’s longest street belongs to Yonge Street in Province of Ontario.
Lake Ontario is place from where Yonge Street starts and runs through Northern and Central Ontario to area of Rainy River, on Ontario Canada – Minnesota border, at distance over 1896 km/1178 miles.
Guinness Book of World Records claimed this as late as 1998. Most of the Yonge Street exists as Highway 11, north of Greater Toronto Due to development of GTA, old highway lives on side roads, overgrown wooded trails and dead end roads.
2. The Freshwater Beach, World’s Longest: Wasaga Beach is one of the most beautiful beach on Georgian Bay, it is one of the world’s longest and freshwater beach.
It is about 8.6 miles/14 km. Wasaga Beach is located for about 2 hours on northwest of Toronto.
3. Shortest Railway in North America: Thousands Island Railway is that which runs in Gananoque Ontario, it is in North America’s shortest railway just about 5.43 km/ 3.32 miles.
4. World’s Third Tallest Tower: Canada has third tallest tower in the world and it is names as CN Tower.
It was completed in 1975. The CN Tower stands 5’ and 1815’ tall. Paneled elevator floors in CN Tower are the highest tower in the world.
5. Ontario has World’s Largest Sony Big Screen: Inside Rogers Centre in Toronto you will find largest Sony big screen. It is World’s largest screen, it is about 33ft. X 110ft.
6. World’s Largest Coin: Big Nickel is located in Sudbury, it is world’s largest coin. It is giant reproduction of 1951 Canadian nickel, which is about 9 meters in diameter.
7. Lois Maxwell: Lois Maxwell was born in Kitchener Ontario, he was a regular columnist of Toronto Sun news.
8. Red-Nosed Reindeer: An animated TV movie “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” was filmed, but entire soundtrack was recorded in a studio Toronto, Ontario. Most of the speaking and singing cast were Canadian. Paul Soles and Billie Mae Richard are neighbors in Ontario retirement community.
